"Wilderness King's Pool, owned by Wilderness, is a superbly luxurious property, the only negative being the eye-watering price tag. The Linyanti Reserve is nothing short of exceptional, with predators and plains game seemingly everywhere in the dry season. A truly great safari camp."

OVERVIEW:

Perfect for clients seeking a luxurious experience with a hint of adventure, Wilderness King’s Pool tends to attract a more mature clientele than the Linyanti’s rustic properties. It’s perfect for travelers who like their creature comforts on safari!

Wilderness King’s Pool is owned and run by Wilderness. This company operates a very impressive range of safari camps and lodges across Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Wilderness King’s Pool is the flagship camp of the wildlife-rich Wilderness Linyanti Concession and one of Africa’s most luxurious and expensive safari camps! The accommodation is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, twice-daily scheduled safari activities, park fees, and a laundry service.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The camp is accessed via 45 minutes’ road transfer from Chobe’s airstrip. It has a wonderful location overlooking an oxbow lake and a river in the Wilderness Linyanti Concession, within the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT WILDERNESS KING'S POOL CAMP:

Guest accommodation consists of nine thatch-and-canvas guest rooms and one two bedroom suite, spaced along the banks of the river. Each contains a king-size bed with mosquito netting, bedside stands and lighting, a writing desk and chair, and a lounge area with easy chairs and poufs. The thatched roof of every room rises to quite a height, making for an airy and spacious feel. Additional in-room amenities include both a ceiling fan and a standing fan, and the palette features the natural tones of the timber floor, beams, and thatch, alongside vibrant notes of teal. The en-suite facilities are positioned behind the bedroom, and they comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins with mirrors over, and step-up shower. A door from the bedroom/lounge leads out onto a private veranda, where you’ll find an outdoor shower, a covered seating space with beautiful views! The two-bedroom suite comprises of two separate rooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom and a communal sunken lounge and plunge pool for the ultimate in privacy.

The communal living and dining areas at Wilderness King’s Pool are housed in a vast open-sided lodge building that’s connected to the guest structures along raised wooden walkways. These main spaces are just as well presented as the guest rooms, and they too feature a palette combining natural tones and teal. The lounge includes leather and woven seating around chic metal coffee tables, an interesting display of artifacts, and a cozy fireplace. The library is similarly decorated, and it offers a serene additional relaxation space. Dining options can either be communal, where all guests sit at one long table, or by individual groups; however, communal dining is typically the norm. Wilderness King’s Pool has a well-stocked bar as well, and all interiors flow out onto wide viewing decks. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining in the camp’s ‘kglota’ and a refreshing dip in the plunge pool!
