The lodge sits under mahogany trees, overlooking Chobe River and the Captivi floodplains, and is almost Moorish in style, with vaulted ceilings, graceful arches and tiled floors. We rarely recommend extremely large lodges as we don't think they give a truly authentic safari experience. Chobe Game Lodge is an exception. It is the only permanent lodge in Chobe National Park, enabling guests to enjoy the wildlife around them without having to enter and exit the park each day.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Chobe Game Lodge is located in the north-eastern corner of Botswana's Chobe National Park.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The 47 guest rooms are tastefully decorated with original African carvings and paintings. They each have their own private deck where guests can sit and enjoy the river views. Four deluxe rooms have their own plunge pool.
Facilities include a large swimming pool, gym, massage room and wildlife reference library as well as a Tshwene bar with a full-size billiard table. Game drives are conducted in 4x4's, while game-viewing on the water is conducted in small, extremely manoeuvrable boats. The food is tasty, the service is friendly and it is particularly suitable for families. It is also well-priced.
This park is a wildlife paradise and home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Other animals include buffalo, lion, wild dog, sable and roan antelope. Making huge efforts to lead the safari industry into an eco-friendly future, Chobe Game Lodge has a fleet of electric-powered safari boats game-drive vehicles, which provide a unique experience of a silent safari!
