WHAT’S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE IN UGANDA IN JULY?

  • Days are consistently warm and sunny, with little rainfall
  • It’s the middle of the long dry season, but Uganda has a tropical climate so there’s still a small chance of rain
  • Temperatures are high
  • YZ recommends packing long lightweight trousers for gorilla tracking and warm layers for the cooler mornings and evenings.

WHAT ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF VISITING UGANDA IN JULY?

  • All parks are accessible and all activities are possible during the dry season
  • Even in peak season, it’s rare that parks in Uganda feel busy or overcrowded
  • It’s an ideal time for game viewing, as wildlife is concentrated around the waterholes and there’s less foliage to block your view
  • This is one of the best and easiest months to go trekking for gorillas and chimpanzees, as the ground is dry
  • July is the optimum month to see tree-climbing lions
  • In the north of Uganda, it’s still wet season and there are over 1,000 bird species flying about
  • Wildlife around waterholes is a superb subject for keen photographers this month
  • Mosquito numbers start to decline.
