Serengeti Simba Lodge

OVERVIEW:

Although this lodge is relatively luxurious and offers fairly good value, we only send clients here from May through to June when the Great Migration passes through.

ACCESS & LOCATION: 

Located just outside of the Serengeti National Park, the lodge sits on a hilltop overlooking the Grumeti River, with sweeping views over the plains.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SERENGETI SIMBA LODGE:

Simba Lodge consists of 13 luxurious tented rooms with en suite bathrooms, complete with flushing toilet. Outside there is a large deck where guests can sit out. The main area includes a large dining room, bar and swimming pool.

ACTIVITIES AT SERENGETI SIMBA LODGE:

• As a result of the lodge's location outside the park, it has less resident game than camps within. It also suffers from a heavy build-up of traffic as the National Park's workers live nearby.
• Nevertheless, its location comes into its own from May through to June when the Great Migration comes through. It also has the added bonus that it is able to offer walks as well as night game drives as it is not bound by park rules.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
