OVERVIEW:
Falling into our 'value' rated accommodation, Rhino Lodge is more Spartan-esque than luxuries galore; however, if you are looking for an affordable base for an adventure into the Crater then this is perhaps one lodge to consider.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
It overlooks dense forest on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT RHINO LODGE:
It is a large lodge with 24 rooms, each with toilet, shower and wash-hand basin. The rooms are basic, almost spartan, but reasonably comfortable. They have small balconies with views over the forest.
ACTIVITIES AT RHINO LODGE:
- Activities include game drives, walking safaris in the forest reserve and visits to local Maasai villages.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
