When To Visit Arusha:

"Due to the fact that Ngare Sero is off the main road, I'll only use this property for a two-night stay or more; it's simply too far to travel for a one-night stay. But what a property – heaps of character and a wonderful home-from-home feel. My favourite Arusha lodge overall."

Ngare Sero is one of the oldest family lodges in Arusha, having been adapted from a colonial farmhouse built in the early twentieth century.

The lodge is located only 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha town centre, which makes it an ideal base for safaris.

It offers just ten garden rooms, one main house suite and a pool cottage with two bedrooms, and has provided personal service for its residents since 1973.

**For families with children under the age of 6 years, we always request a mesh barrier or a room without a balcony for safety reasons. If you stay here with us, please ensure this is what you are given.**

  • Here you can spend the days amid nature, watching the changing colours of the Kilimanjaro glaciers while sipping drinks on the veranda or hiking in the forest inhabited by colobus and Sykes’ monkeys as well as hundreds of small animal and bird species.
  • Try swimming in the 30m pool or fly fishing in the cool waters of the clear lake, horse riding under the tree canopy or treating yourself to a Garden Spa after a long journey or an international flight.
