OVERVIEW:
We like this camp, as not only does it have a lovely location and offer very good value, but it is a fantastic base from which to see the Wildebeest Migration. It is a good, mid-priced option and is much more comfortable than the mobile camps during wet weather.
ACCESS & LOCATION:Â
Lake Masek Tented Camp is situated in the Ndutu area of the southern Serengeti.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LAKE MASEK TENTED CAMP:
The main area is lovely with a magnificent lounge, dining area and well-stocked library. A large deck outside gives spectacular 180° views of Lake Masek. This is a fabulous place to see the Great Migration between December and March. The camp sits beside Lake Masek so offers wonderful views. It has 20 luxury tents – 15 with twin beds and 5 with king-size beds. They are raised up on wooden decks and made of wood, thatch and canvas. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms come complete with both a shower and a freestanding bath. The lodge is eco-friendly, using solar panels for power, water collected and stored from the wet season, and biodegradable products.
ACTIVITIES AT LAKE MASEK TENTED CAMP:
- Activities include day and night game drives and walking safaris with a knowledgeable Masai guide.
- We often send clients here for a stop-off night if they are driving to the Serengeti.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
