When To Visit The Serengeti:

"I'd love to hate Four Seasons due to its sheer size and somewhat imposing character, but somewhat bizarrely I love this property. Relaxing in a 5-star hotel with elephants on tap is something I'll never forget. "

OVERVIEW:

The Four Seasons is perfect for clients looking for the modern comforts of larger western hotel brands, while being located in the centre of the Serengeti. With a spa, infinity pool, and luxurious guest bedrooms, we believe it is suited for families and large groups that are looking for high quality accommodation. It is our favourite of the large hotels in this area.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Four Seasons Serengeti is located just north of the Seronera River Valley in the heart of the Serengeti. This area is famous for having some of the best residual game in the entire park. The lodge is a 45-minute drive from the Seronera Airstrip (SEU), accessible by connecting flights from three main airports within Tanzania: Arusha Airport (ARK) for domestic flights only, Julius Nyerere International in Dar es Salaam (DAR) and Kilimanjaro International (JRO).

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT FOUR SEASONS SERENGETI:

The hotel itself is very luxurious – reflecting the sheer quality of the Four Seasons brand. Catering towards clients who are looking to avoid the smaller, more personal lodges and camps, Four Seasons is perfect for groups and young families who are seeking five-star luxury accommodation. The property has a range of rooms and villas from Presidential suites to standard rooms. Each room is designed in a contemporary safari style and is equipped with all the modern comforts you may expect from a 5* hotel – air conditioning and internet come as standard. The style tastefully features African décor and the rooms have a sofa, flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower. The communal area overlooks a watering hole that attracts game throughout the day. It is not uncommon to be eating lunch in the company of elephants! Guests can also use the spa and fitness centre, reception area, bar and infinity pool that looks out on the open plains. At the lodge, guests can enjoy the Boma Grill, which offers a cultural Maasai experience with an authentic feast and Maasai dancing. There is also the Kula’s Restaurant, which offers spectacular views, local dishes and international wines. For pre- or post-dinner drinks, the Maji Bar and Terrace is a great place to enjoy the evening, watching the sun set across the Serengeti.

ACTIVITIES AT FOUR SEASONS SERENGETI:

Four Seasons Serengeti offers an exciting range of activities, as follows:

  • Half-day or full day game drives

    – Guests can either go out on morning or afternoon safari adventures, or full day safaris in the Serengeti National Park. Depending on the time of year and where the wildlife is located, the lodge guides can advise as to which type would suit you best.
  • Full day Ngorongoro safari

    – As well as safaris in the Serengeti, Four Seasons offers a full day adventure in the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera.
  • Great Wildebeest Migration

    – For April, May and early June the location is perfect for the Great Migration as the herds push north. November and early December sees the herds passing through again as they head south to the short grass plains.
  • Children-focused activities

    – For children, the excellent kids club has an arts and crafts space, a ‘foosball’ table, a selection of board games, and a separate area with video games (Wii and Xbox 360), a PC computer, a selection of DVDs, and a small library.
  • Bush dinners

    – On request, guests can enjoy a bush dinner, where a torchlit barbecue dinner is set up in the middle of the Serengeti National Park. Here guests can reax around the bonfire and watch the stars, while under the watchful protection of Maasai warriors.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
