Shooting Star Lodge's reputation has been built up over many years by the family who own and run it.

OVERVIEW:
Shooting Star is personal, unpretentious and good value for money. It is a hotel to use if you are looking for an economical but reliable place to stay on Zanzibar.

ACCESS & LOCATION:
It is situated on Zanzibar’s palm-fringed east coast, approximately one hour’s drive from Stone Town and the international airport.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The ten cottages here are built in traditional Zanzibar style, with large windows, high-beamed ceilings and lime-washed walls. The garden rooms are the most economical, but we prefer the Sea View chalets as they have the best views.

The open-air restaurant and bar have panoramic vistas. The food here is some of the best in the area, serving both international cuisine and traditional African recipes.

ACTIVITIES:
It nestles on a headland overlooking the fine white sand and coconut palms of Kwanga beach. Its spectacular views are some of the very best in Zanzibar. This is a simple, no-frills beach lodge with a stunning location and the idea here is to relax so there is not an exclusive list of activities; however, here guests can enjoy the views from the infinity pool, walk along the pristine beaches and venture into the onsite spa for a body scrub, massage or facial treatment.

"An old favourite on Zanzibar and a property with stunning views out to sea. I often find I use other similarly priced properties over Shooting Star - Sunshine or Pongwe for example - but this is a good property nonetheless."
