"A small lodge with a very romantic 'Out of Africa' feel... if budgets can be stretched for the Lourenco Marques or Presidential suites, the level of luxury and elegance steps up to an incredible level – a real treat perfect for honeymooners or couples wanting a special experience."

OVERVIEW:

Selati is modelled on a historic railway theme which harks back to the 1870s, when gold was transported by rail from the Drakensberg and a sideline was cut across the Sabi Sands Reserve close to where the camp is now. The camp is designed as an authentic home in the bush from that time, and decorated with artefacts such as the original steam engine name-plates and signals. We like Selati Camp as it is a good quality camp full of character.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Selati Camp is one of four lodges in the exclusive Sabi Sabi Reserve, which borders the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SABI SABI SELATI CAMP:

All eight of its thatched suites are furnished in colonial "out of Africa" style and each has a full bathroom en suite and an alfresco shower. One suite, the Ivory Presidential Suite, is even more sumptuous, with a draped four-poster bed, a magnificent bathroom with a Persian carpet and antique chaise-longue, a separate dressing room and a private plunge pool. Another suite, the Lourenco Marques Suite is wonderfully romantic so the perfect choice for honeymooners.

ACTIVITIES AT SABI SABI SELATI CAMP:

  • The game-viewing is extremely good here, with all the Big Five present.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
