"Narina is a beautiful property that sits on its own private concession within the main Kruger Park. It’s also very luxurious and with nine suites, each boasting a private plunge pool."

Narina Lodge offers luxurious accommodation in an area rich in wildlife!

Narina Lodge is accessible from all airports in the area. It is 5 hours from Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo, 2 hours 15 minutes from Hoedspruit, and 1 hour from Hazyview.

A sand-and-stone track leads through the park to the characterful communal lodge – this is constructed from timber, stone, and thatch, in the classic safari style. Inside, there is a spacious open-plan lounge, dining area, and bar, complete with cosy fireplace. The lounge contains comfortable seating around coffee tables, while the dining space includes separate tables and chairs. These areas flow out onto an equally spacious deck, which overlooks the river. It is very pleasant to sit out here for a meal or just a drink, watching out for wildlife! The décor both inside and outside the lodge is mostly neutral, with a few splashes of a very natural green as well as some earthy tones.

The guest accommodation at Narina Lodge consists of nine suites, all connected to the main lodge via raised wooden walkways through the trees. Each is made of timber, thatch, and glass. Inside, there is a double bed or twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, ample storage space, and a lounge area with sofa, armchair, and coffee table. Other features include air conditioning, room fans, mosquito nets, a telephone, a safe, a mini-bar, and a hairdryer. The en-suite facilities comprise separate WC, washbasins, indoor shower, outdoor shower, and a big bathtub too! The bath is positioned close to the window, so you can enjoy those gorgeous river views while relaxing in the tub – as you are high up in the tree line, there is no need to worry about privacy. Each suite also boasts a private deck, with comfy furniture and fabulous plunge pool!

Some superb activities are available from Narina Lodge – game drives, bush walks, village visits, and more!

  • The drives take place every morning and evening, in open safari vehicles. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the Lion Sands concession. The sprawling savanna, woods, and rivers are home to a wealth of wildlife!
  • All Big Five are in residence here – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. You can also look out for cheetah, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, serval, caracal, giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, lots of antelope species, hippopotamus, and chacma baboon!
  • Birding is brilliant across Kruger National Park, featuring raptors, waterfowl, and songbirds. A walking safari is a great way to check out all these feathery friends, in addition to the plant life and insect life of the area.
  • At Narina, bush walks begin after breakfast and last for 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. This activity is restricted to guests aged 16 years and over. However, there are plenty of things for children to do, such as astronomy, bird watching, and a visit to a local village, which involves a trip to the school.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
