OVERVIEW:
We recommend Maia for a truly intimate experience within one of Mahé’s most scenic settings. For travellers who appreciate peace and quiet, the policy of no motorised watersports on the resort’s beach is absolutely ideal! Service at Maia is reflected in its philosophy: ‘Peace and Privacy … a place where you can truly be yourself is the greatest luxury in the world.’ Staff members pride themselves on good instincts, with a private butler available to anticipate every guest’s needs. Butlers are on hand to provide in-villa dining, or guests may prefer to dine at the resort’s restaurant Tec Tec. This is Mahé’s only gourmet eatery and its chefs specialise in dishes fusing Mediterranean and Asian/Creole cuisine. The resort benefits also from its own wine cellars, containing over three hundred vintages from all over the world. Finally, gym equipment is available at the fitness centre, while the spa offers a full menu of treatments and therapies, plus yoga and pilates.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
All resort buildings are situated within approximately 12 hectares of award-winning gardens and secluded white sands.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES MAIA RESORT & SPA:
The main facilities at Maia are found at the centre of the resort and behind a group of beach villas, adjacent to a lagoon. At the former location is a set of thatched structures housing Reception, the restaurant, and a bar overlooking the spacious swimming pool. Near the lagoon is the spa and fitness centre, with its yoga and meditation pavilion.
Maia’s luxurious villas are located either along the ocean front or up among rocky hills. All enjoy superb views of the Indian Ocean from a gazebo with thatched roof and a glamorous terrace with private pool. Inside, all bedrooms boast king-size bed, flatscreen TV and DVD player, mini bar, and en-suite facilities including indoor shower and outdoor bath.
**Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the situation of villas on the edge of a steep hillside with unprotected drops.**
