It is owned and operated by Serena Hotels, which boasts an impressive collection of properties in parts of Safari Africa and farther afield. Kigali Serena provides a very comfortable stopover for safarists on their way to or from camps and lodges in Volcanoes National Park, with the option to take in a wealth of city attractions. Kigali Serena Hotel is highly recommended for travellers seeking a first-rate stopover on their way to Volcanoes – and it’s a great destination in its own right too.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT KIGALI SERENA HOTEL:

Kigali Serena is a contemporary building, set within well-kept grounds. Guests enter into a very grand reception area, a polished granite atrium featuring some amazing Rwandese artwork! Rooms off this space include numerous lounges and a fine assortment of restaurants and bars. For example, Milima overlooks the property’s pool and provides Anglo-American or continental breakfasts, various buffet lunches, and à la carte dinners. If African/Asian cuisine and cocktails appeals, we recommend Sokoni, located in Kigali Serena’s tropical grounds. The hotel has a gift shop too, stocking souvenirs and essential items. If you feel like a little pampering, you can visit the beauty salon or the health club and spa for massages, mani-pedis, and much more besides! The spacious sundeck is ideal for relaxing with a book or simply sunbathing, with the swimming pool just metres away for whenever you need to refresh. With a plunge pool, steam room, and sauna also available, the hotel offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation. And if you are here on business, you can enjoy use of a 24-hour business centre, secretarial services, an 800-seater ballroom, a 500-seater auditorium, three large private dining rooms, an international press centre, a range of indoor and outdoor reception areas, free Wi-Fi, and free private parking!

Guest accommodation at Kigali Serena consists of 148 rooms and suites. The rooms come in five categories – standard, standard disabled, deluxe, superior, and prime. There are three types of suite – junior, executive, and presidential. Each standard room measures at least 25 square metres and boasts a king-size bed or twin beds and en-suite facilities featuring bathtub and shower. One room is suitable for disabled people – please get in touch if you would like further information. Amenities include air conditioning, direct dial telephone, voicemail, Wi-Fi, flatscreen satellite television, tea- and coffee-making facilities, mini-bar, safe, and hairdryer. All these are available in deluxe, superior, and prime rooms too – the difference between categories lies in the style of furnishings, with prime rooms offering the most luxurious accommodation. The suites have all the features of the rooms, plus an integrated workspace (studio), a workspace and separate sitting room (executive), and a private vestibule, reception area, galley kitchen, dining room, sitting room, office, conference room, two en-suite guest rooms, and Jacuzzi (presidential). Each studio suite measures 40 square metres, while every executive suite is 70 and the presidential suite is an enormous 300! All suites come with an outdoor terrace, which is fabulous for children’s playtime. Interconnecting rooms are available for families, and additional beds and/or cots may be added to most of the accommodation options – just contact us for more details.
