WHAT’S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE in Mozambique in FEBRUARY?

  • Both days and nights can be very rainy and humid
  • February is a wet season month, with rains lasting for longer in the country’s north than in the south, usually by several weeks
  • Temperatures are high
  • We recommend light layers and sturdy waterproof clothing
  • This is cyclone season, and beaches can get very windy indeed.

  • Availability of properties is generally good for beach destinations, with no need to book in advance
  • In some areas, it’s unusual for the rain to go on for more than a few hours
  • February is fabulous for birding
  • Five species of turtle nest along the country’s coast, and this month all come waddling ashore to lay their eggs in the sand which makes for great photo opportunities.
  • Ocean temperatures are warm, providing comfortable conditions for scuba diving.
