"This property is adults only, which makes it popular with couples and honeymooners. The only slight downside is that it doesn’t have the best beach, as the beach is manmade and a bit on the small side."

OVERVIEW:

Once a Relais & Châteaux property, Paradise Cove has always enjoyed an excellent reputation since its opening in May 1992. This is due in large part to its exceptional staff, who provide a very personalised service. The hotel has received awards from both World Travel Awards and Trip Advisor – and it has just made the Travellers’ Choice Top Ten for Romance in Mauritius! For true pampering perfection, we recommend the Cinq Mondes spa with its therapeutic facials, flower baths and massages. It is even possible to arrange a massage on the beach!

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Paradise Cove has a lovely location. It resides close to a secluded white-sand beach below a rocky peninsula on the north coast of Mauritius, within 3ha of gorgeous gardens resplendent with tropical trees and flowers. It is 60km from the airport and just 5km from the vibrant village of Grand Baie.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT PARADISE COVE:

The hotel blends beautifully into its setting, merging traditional island architecture and modern exotic design. Its four restaurants offer an assortment of eating experiences, from seafood à la carte at romantic destination The Cove, to Asian fusion at informal eatery The XO, to local and international cuisine at The Dining Room and Indigo Restaurant & Bar. The Dining Room overlooks one of the hotel’s two freshwater swimming pools, while Indigo is situated close to the beachfront with views of a serene lagoon. There is also a further bar, rum gallery, cellar, fitness centre and spa, plus the Club Lounge for guests opting for Club Junior or Club Senior suites – here, guests enjoy afternoon teas, other refreshments, newspapers and magazines, and access to computers and board games.

The Club suites are at the higher end of accommodation options at Paradise Cove. There are four categories in total, including Deluxe Room and Deluxe Premium Room. All rooms and suites are air conditioned and spacious, featuring satellite TV, IDD telephone, complimentary Wi-Fi, electronic safe, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and mini bar. All bathrooms have a bathtub, shower and separate WC, but the Club Senior Suite also has an integrated Jacuzzi! The navy-and-white palette of all interiors recalls the colours of the sea, visible from each room or suite’s private terrace or balcony – and all terraces and balconies come with comfortable furniture, inviting guests to relax and enjoy their view.

ACTIVITIES AT PARADISE COVE:

  • As far as activities are concerned, Paradise Cove boasts an extensive menu of water- and land-based pursuits! Watersports free of charge include waterskiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing and glass-bottom boat rides, with guests paying extra for scuba diving, kite surfing, big- and small-game fishing, and submarine safari.
  • On land, there is tennis, yoga, and use of the fitness centre, with bicycles for hire.
  • Free excursions consist of visiting the fisherman village Cap Malheureux and biking around the local area, while garden visits, island tours and various boat trips are available at cost.
  • And the hotel offers plenty of other entertainments – live music, piano bar and pool table, for example.
