OVERVIEW:

With a Mediterranean style of architecture and décor and a beautiful beachfront on the doorstep of the hotel that lights up at night, Swahili Beach is a lovely location. Guests return again and again to experience the magic! If you prefer large resorts to more bijou properties, it will suit you perfectly!

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Swahili Beach Resort is located on the vibrant and colourful Diani Beach along the South Coast of Kenya.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SWAHILI BEACH RESORT:

The size and scale of the lobby here is seriously impressive, resembling more the architecture of a large city mosque than that of a beachside hotel. The swimming pool begins its long journey near Reception – as you walk through the resort, you will notice it rising up through seven tiers before hitting the final pool spot right above the beach, with effortless glitz and glamour! Inside the main building are a number of shops, for general items as well as clothes and souvenirs, and all the little alcoves and hideaways are adorned with cushions and stools, tables and chairs, in a combination of Asian and traditional Swahili design. A large iron chandelier dangles from inside the dome and adds to the mosque-like feel. An on-site gym provides facilities for guests to go for a run or to pump some iron – if you prefer relaxation, you can opt for a serene spa session in one of the fabulous treatment rooms. A comfortable dining area and restaurant complete the communal areas within the hotel, with cuisine that is an enticing fusion of Indian and Swahili!

All 140 guest rooms at Swahili Beach are designed to bestow calm – they are light and spacious, with nice touches from the Swahili tradition running throughout their furnishings. Lounge areas in the superior rooms provide the perfect place to rest your tired limbs and there is either a large terrace or balcony, depending on the level of the floor on which you are staying. Fourteen suites house a spacious lounge, a functioning kitchenette and a dining terrace. In each room, mosquito nets and air-conditioning are provided, as well as a mini bar and hot beverage facilities, a hairdryer, and a satellite television. The en-suite bathrooms are generously proportioned and boast a double handbasin, grand mirror, toilet, bidet, and a large rainfall shower!

ACTIVITIES AT SWAHILI BEACH RESORT:

Diani Beach is a fantastic centre for adrenaline-pumping watersports – and Swahili Beach is in a prime location for guests to experience all the action! You can book onto a snorkelling or diving course, aided by instructors from the nearby Diani Marine, or go for some big game fishing out on the Indian Ocean. Kisite Marine Park is also close by.

Guests can visit Wasini Island too, or just head out for a cruise on a traditional dhow. A dhow excursion provides opportunities to spot a vast array of marine wildlife – and there is nothing quite like having a sundowner with a traditional navigator and the Indian Ocean wide open before you! With such a wide array of activities on offer here, guests are truly spoiled for choice.
