It’s Great Migration time! Come July the first herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles enter the Maasai Mara for the thrilling river crossings – and dry conditions are superb for safari everywhere.

WHAT’S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE IN KENYA IN JULY?

  • Both day and night temperatures are cooler than June
  • It’s dry season, so the weather is cooler and drier overall
  • The Maasai Mara National Reserve and Laikipia are particularly chilly, as they’re at higher altitudes than other safari areas
  • There’s significant wind chill on morning and evening/night vehicle safaris, so we recommend lots of layers

  • Sunny skies make for some stunning photography, and this month is particularly good for capturing Nairobi National Park with its city backdrop
