ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT &BEYOND SUYIAN LODGE:
Guest accommodation at &Beyond Suyian consists of 14 suites, including a two-bedroom Family Suite and the option for a Triple Suite on request. Each unit has its own terrace with viewing deck and plunge pool, while indoor/outdoor showers boast stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. Inspired by the region’s granite kopjes and undulating hills, the lodge architecture blends perfectly with its surroundings, and the comfortable, contemporary style features over-sized windows, soft lighting, muted tones, and plenty of natural wood, thatch, and stone, allowing the landscape to take centre stage.
There are various indoor and outdoor dining areas, including the chef’s table in the house kitchen, a private dining room, and the option for guests to dine in-suite, on their private terrace under a starlit sky. Pre-dinner drinks are enjoyed around the campfire-style sunken firepit, and there’s also an outdoor courtyard with an open-fire cooking area. The Samburu Bar features indoor and outdoor seating at the heart of the lodge, while the library, lounge, and map room is a great place to interact with other guests or learn about the region and its wildlife. A rim-flow swimming pool offers the perfect respite from the hottest hours of the day between game-viewing activities, and there’s a discreetly located wellness centre with two treatment rooms, each with a private shower, changing area, and veranda, plus an additional steam room with a cold plunge pool. The lodge also has a small state-of-the-art gym with cardio and strength-training fitness equipment, and an outdoor shaded yoga studio offering twice-daily sessions for groups or individuals.
