This trip is perfect for solo travellers who wish to travel as part of a group! It is based in Kafue National Park, where the game viewing is exceptionally good. You will enjoy a mix of walking and game drives, as well as a low single supplement. It really is great value!

The properties we use are Musekese Camp and Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp. Musekese is a characterful little tented camp on the banks of the Kafue river, offering some superb safari activities. And Ntemwa Busanga is in the north region of the park, on the south side of the sprawling Busanga Plains! Both are run by Jeffery & McKeith Safaris, a small company based in Kafue.

*Please note, this is just one example of a trip we could design for you. We tailor-make safari holidays that take you to the real Africa – no readymade tours or set departures. Do get in touch with one of our experts today to start creating your bespoke itinerary!*

Days 1–3 Kafue National Park

MSC36

On the first day of your trip, you will fly out to Kafue National Park and transfer by road to Musekese Camp. This camp overlooks a lagoon that attracts a lot of wildlife! Its communal lodge is a classic timber, stone, and grass thatch structure. Inside, there is a comfy lounge and dining area flowing out on to a deck. The deck in turn extends well into the lagoon system, providing some excellent sightings of the resident animals and birds. Guest accommodation consists of just four traditional chalets, featuring snug beds and lovely local furnishings! Every chalet has en-suite facilities of flush toilet, washbasin, and bucket shower. Activities from Musekese include morning and evening game drives, walking safaris, boating safaris, viewing from the camp’s hides, and special birding walks. There is loads to see in Kafue – lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, lots of different antelopes, and smaller species such as honey badger, side-striped jackal, and the charming pangolin. And there are almost 500 types of bird!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation, including all meals, selection of house alcoholic drinks, activities, ZAWA park fees, KCC, and a laundry service.

Days 4–6 Kafue National Park (Busanga Plains)

BBC 2014 09 55

On Day 4 of your adventure, you will drive or walk to Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp. This property has a fantastic rustic feel! The communal boma is positioned under a very old sycamore, so there is plenty of cooling shade. Four guest tents are set in a grove of trees, with stunning views out onto the plains. Each is simply yet comfortably furnished, and the en-suite facilities include bucket shower and short-drop loo. The main activity from Ntemwa-Busanga is morning, evening, and all-day game drives – the Plains are so vast, it makes sense to cover as much ground as you can! However, walking safaris and boating safaris are available too. This region of Kafue also contains a wealth of wildlife, from big game to bushpig and everything in between! If you enjoy photography, you will love capturing spectacular panoramas of the Plains and gorgeous close-ups of colourful birds.
