This introductory trip combines Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, and two camps in the Okavango Delta. The safari is perfect for the first-time traveller to the region and offers incredible value throughout the year.

This safari includes four of our favourite affordable properties – Victoria Falls Hotel, Chobe Elephant Camp in Chobe National Park, Sango Safari Camp, and Pelo Camp. We split the location in the Okavango Delta so that you can take advantage of both dry game viewing (at Sango) and water activities (at Pelo). ‘Vic Falls Hotel’ is always a reliable choice, while all three safari camps offer some of the best value in the entire country. They also give you the full Botswana experience, with access to the country’s water and its game-rich areas.

Days 1–2 Victoria Falls

Victoria falls, zimbabwe safari holidays

These first two nights are spent at the wonderfully atmospheric Victoria Falls Hotel. Steeped in history and with views directly up the gorge to the Falls themselves, this is a great hotel with an unbeatable location.

Board basis and activities:
The Hotel is booked on a B&B basis, and we recommend organising activities while staying here. All our safaris include a free private guided tour of the Falls, but to arrange days in full we would suggest asking one of our consultants for their recommendations.

Days 3–5 Chobe National Park

Moving on from the Victoria Falls, we set off for Chobe National Park, just over one hour's drive up the Zambezi river. Chobe Elephant Camp is located in a private area just outside the northern park boundary. This location is one of the camp's main selling points, allowing for night safari and walking safari, whilst one of the park's main gates is a short drive away.

Chobe Elephant Camp is booked on an all-inclusive basis including all food, drinks, and safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp, with standard game drives, walking safaris, and boating safaris all included in the price.

Days 6–8 Okavango Delta - Khwai Concession

Leaving Chobe, we fly in to the Okavango Delta. Flights over the Okavango are nothing short of exceptional. Sango is located in the game-rich Khwai concession, an area well known for its predators including all the cats. Sango itself looks over the Khwai river and is a camp well known for friendly service and a family atmosphere.

Like Chobe Elephant Camp, Sango is booked on an all-inclusive basis including all food, drinks, and safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp, with standard game drives and mokoro (subject to water levels) all included in the price.

Days 9–10 Okavango Delta - Jao Concession

We would then suggest you end with a couple of days in the western part of the Okavango Delta, an area that offers more in terms of game viewing on the water than Sango Safari Camp. This region is the prettiest part of the Delta and is the perfect place to end a trip to Botswana. Pelo Camp continues along the best-value route, but it also offers a very high level of comfort. It is one of our favourite water camps!

Like Chobe Elephant Camp and Sango Safari Camp, Pelo is booked on an all-inclusive basis including all food, drinks, and safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp – standard boating and mokoro are the focus, but walking and fishing are also included in the price.

On Day 11, you will transfer by light aircraft to Maun, where you will connect onto your international flight.
