This family safari takes you on a journey through Tanzania’s most famous attractions – the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Zanzibar! It’s one of our most popular family safaris, with great rates for children and a diverse range of activities.

The trip includes some excellent family-friendly properties where children aged under 12 years are offered great rates! You’ll start at The Plantation Lodge. With a lovely location just outside the town of Karatu, the lodge is a brilliant base from which to visit the Ngorongoro Crater. Next up is Lemala Mara Tented Camp, which is situated on the Mara river and moves around the Serengeti to bring you the best of the animal action! And finally, you’ll head to Breezes Beach Club, one of the best resorts on Zanzibar, with everything you need to end your trip in laidback beach style.

While you’re staying at The Plantation Lodge, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a classic Big Five vehicle safari! The lodge also offers plenty of on-site experiences, such as guided walks among coffee plantations and farm visits. Once at Lemala Mara, the focus of your adventures is following the huge herds of the Great Migration on expertly guided game drives! The camp also specialises in children’s activities. After all the safari action, you can get stuck in to all sorts of watersports from Breezes, not least diving and snorkelling. An exciting variety of island excursions is available too.

Day 1 Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On the first day of your trip, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll fly to Lake Manyara Airport, where you’ll be met by a private guide in a private vehicle. This guide will be with you throughout your stay in the Ngorongoro region! Your first activity is a vehicle safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. This is a spectacular start to your holiday, as the Crater is home to all Big Five species – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – in addition to numerous smaller mammals and ample birdlife! You’ll spend your first night at The Plantation Lodge, in the family unit known as Bamboo. This option offers two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, and a charming inner quadrangle complete with seating nook. The lodge’s communal areas include a comfortable lounge, two dining rooms, gardens, and a swimming pool!

Days 2-4 Serengeti National Park

For the next part of your trip, you will fly to the Serengeti, for three nights at mobile camp Lemala Mara. This property combines adventure and luxury to excellent effect. It is open from July through to November, the Great Migration months! Boasting superb views over a popular wildebeest crossing point, Lemala offers great game viewing even before you head out into the park. Activities focus on game drives, with a wealth of wildlife to see in addition to the vast migration herds. There is also the excellent ‘Lemala Cubs Club’, where children can go on nature walks around camp with the Maasai, as well as building their own bows and arrows for archery in front of the mess tent!

Fully inclusive of meals, selected house alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, laundry and standard game drives from a shared open-sided 4×4 game drive vehicle.

Days 5-9 Zanzibar

Now it’s time for your beach break! You’ll have a shared road transfer from Lemala Mara to Kogatende Airstrip and fly to Zanzibar’s international airport (2 hrs 20 mins). From here, you’ll transfer privately to Breezes Beach Club & Spa. This gorgeous property is situated on the south-east coast of the island and it’s the perfect place to relax after your time on safari. There are some great restaurants, a spa, and a swimming pool! You’ll stay in a standard room, a spacious option benefiting from air conditioning, many other amenities, and a private terrace with garden views. The nearby beach is superb for sunbathing and sandcastle building, but if you’re feeling more energetic there are lots of other activities to keep everyone occupied. Breezes has some of Zanzibar’s best snorkelling and calmest waters right on its doorstep, and the resort offers loads of other watersports and land sports too.

Half-board accommodation, including breakfast and dinner, use of gym and tennis court, and internet in public areas and rooms.

On the final day of your holiday, you’ll return to Zanzibar’s international airport by private transfer, in time for your flight/s home.
