This trip combines Cape Town, the Winelands, and the Sabi Sand Game Reserve to bring you all sorts of exciting experiences! Very high standards of personal service are matched by the luxurious level of accommodation, while the guiding on safari is fantastic. You will have access not only to the Sabi Sand but also to Kruger National Park, which makes for some phenomenal game viewing!

The three properties we use for the trip are Kensington Place, Le Quartier Français, and Lion Sands River Lodge. Kensington Place is a stylish boutique hotel located on the slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Le Quartier Français is another boutique hotel, a charming property in the lovely village of Franschhoek. Finally, Lion Sands River Lodge offers comfortable accommodation in the southern section of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to Kruger National Park.

Days 1–4 Cape Town

On the first day of your trip, you will fly out to Cape Town and transfer by road to Kensington Place. This property is in a leafy suburb of the Mother City, on the slopes of the majestic Table Mountain! The communal areas include a great restaurant and a gorgeous garden with a relaxing plunge pool. Guest accommodation consists of just eight rooms – all are very well appointed, featuring a marble bath and a private balcony! There are lots of extra touches too, such as an iPod docking station, laptop with free Wi-Fi, and a beach bag with beach towels. Kensington Place is a brilliant base for exploring all the attractions of Cape Town, providing a thrilling start to your holiday!

Days 5–6 Winelands

On Day 5, you will drive to Le Quartier Français. This boutique hotel is situated in Franschhoek, a lovely village in South Africa’s Winelands. The property is best known for The Tasting Room, which ranks in the Top 10 Restaurants in all South Africa! The lounge is comfy and super-stylish, and Le Quartier also boasts a library, spa, and private cinema. Outside, there is a charming courtyard, complete with swimming pool. The guest rooms and suites overlook this area, benefiting from a wood-burning fire and well-appointed en-suite bathroom too. The property has a central location, so you have excellent access to shops, galleries, museums, restaurants, and cafés! Additionally, it is superbly placed for exploring the Winelands.

Days 7–9 Sabi Sand Game Reserve

For the final three nights of the trip, you will fly to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve! Here you will stay at Lion Sands River Lodge. This is a large property within its own reserve, close to the boundary with Kruger National Park. Lion Sands has a very comfortable open-plan lounge and dining area, with breathtaking views of a nearby river. There is a deck too, where you can watch out for wildlife while enjoying a drink or a meal. Guest accommodation consists of 20 thatched rooms and suites, all beautifully furnished. Each of the two suites is situated at a little distance from the communal areas and has particularly lovely views of the river. Lion Sands offers a fine assortment of safari activities, including game drives, walking safaris, helicopter rides over the Blyde River Canyon, and a romantic night in a treehouse, sleeping under the stars.

Board basis and activities:
Full board – three meals per day, teas and coffees, mini-bar, selection of bar drinks and snacks, two game drives daily with refreshments, airport transfers, and Wi-Fi in public areas.

 

On Day 10, you will travel to Johannesburg and connect on to your international flights home.
