The adventure involves three properties. All are run by African Bush Camps, a company specialising in authentic safari experiences. First up, there’s Somalisa Expeditions, a fantastic little camp standing on a small island of acacia trees within Hwange’s Somalisa Concession. Your next stop is Zambezi Expeditions, which is set up on the banks of the mighty Zambezi river within the northern region of Mana Pools N.P. Finally, you’ll stay at Nyamatusi Camp, which is also located alongside the River Zambezi, but in the east side of Mana Pools.
The focus of activities from all three properties is photographic safaris, all expertly led by Nick Dyer. An award-winning photographer and co-author of Painted Wolves: A Wild Dog’s Life, Nick is super-enthusiastic about wild dog and their conservation. During your time in Hwange, you’ll also visit the park’s Painted Dog Conservation project, as well as enjoying vehicle and walking safaris. Walks are a highlight of your stay in Mana Pools too, with more drives available from Nyamatusi and canoeing safaris offered at Zambezi Expeditions.
