Having landed at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll start your trip at The Lazizi Premiere. This is a luxurious hotel, with excellent access to the capital city’s main attractions. Next, you’ll stay at Lewa Safari Camp, a boutique property owned and operated by the excellent Elewana Collection. And your final few nights will be spent at Sand River Masai Mara, another Elewana property with a fabulous 1920s theme!

A stay in Nairobi is an exciting start to any Kenya safari, as you have the option to visit the city’s national park, as well as its museums and gardens. Both Lewa and the Maasai Mara contain a thrilling variety of wildlife, including all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo! Lewa is also home to the Northern Specialty Species, comprising Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Day 1 Nairobi

Kenya’s capital city is your first destination. You’ll travel from the international airport to The Lazizi Premiere, for a little rest before your safari. However, if you’re keen to get going with the wildlife watching, you could certainly consider visiting Nairobi National Park while you’re here! Staff members at the hotel are happy to organise other excursions too, at extra cost. The Lazizi contains plenty of comfortable lounges, great restaurants and bars, a gym, a spa, and a swimming pool. You’ll stay in a Superior Room, which has air conditioning, sound proofing, and a wide range of other amenities, such as satellite television and mini-bar.

Days 2-4 Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

On the second day of your adventure, you’ll transfer by road from The Lazizi to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, from which you’ll fly out to Lewa Downs for Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Here, you’ll stay at Lewa Safari Camp. Set on a former cattle ranch, this boutique property offers plenty of privacy, but also the option to mingle with fellow guests in the pleasant lounge, bar, and swimming pool. You can even play table tennis here! Each of the 11 guest tents is homely and comfortable, benefiting from a spacious veranda with fantastic views. Activities focus on seeing the conservancy’s wildlife, on game drives, horse rides, and camel safaris. Village visits are available too.

Days 5-8 Maasai Mara National Reserve

For the final part of your trip, you’ll head back to Lewa Downs and fly to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You’ll be based at Sand River, an utterly sumptuous camp on the river banks. Styled in keeping with the safari properties of the 1920s, Sand River boasts unashamedly glamorous lounges and dining areas, in addition to a plunge pool and a billiards room! The camp’s 16 guest tents continue the theme, each with four-poster bed, leather seating, and lavish en-suite bathroom. The main activity on offer here is game drives, heading out into the MMNR to look out for numerous predators, herbivores, and birdlife. At extra cost, hot air balloon safaris are available.

On the final day of your holiday, you will fly from the Maasai Mara to Wilson Airport, then from the international terminal back home.
