Suitable for solo travellers, couples, honeymooners, and families alike, this trip takes in the wildlife-rich Samburu and Maasai Mara! You’ll stay at two sumptuous and off-the-beaten-track camps, with a discount available in the MMNR.
The adventure begins at Elephant Watch Camp, at the heart of the Samburu National Reserve. This is a high-quality eco-bushcamp, fabulously situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river, amidst kigelia and acacia trees. Next, you’ll stay at Sala’s Camp, an authentic and intimate property in the far south of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It too is close to water, specifically the confluence of the Sand and Keekerok rivers, near Kenya’s border with Tanzania. And 25 per cent off the price of accommodation is offered to travellers spending a minimum of four nights at the property, from 16th December 2018 to 5th January 2019 and from 1st June to 30th September 2019.
As its name suggests, viewing elephant is the main activity at Elephant Watch Camp, via both vehicle and walking safaris. You can also look out for the Samburu Big Five! Camel walks, helicopter rides, hiking, and village visits are also possible here, some at extra cost. Sala’s Camp also offers great game drives, with the possibility of viewing the Great Migration herds if you travel during the period from July to October. Hot air balloon rides, various sports around camp, and children’s activities are available too.
