This family trip to Kenya combines the activities and adventures available on the Laikipia plateau and in the wildlife-rich Maasai Mara! You’ll stay at camps that are particularly well suited to children.
During the first part of your trip, you’ll stay at Laikipia’s El Karama Lodge. This family-friendly property is situated on a working cattle ranch, north of the Ol Pejeta region. Youngsters of all ages are welcome, and the owners actually live on the ranch with their own children! After your time in Laikipia, you’ll head to Speke’s Camp, located in the Mara North Conservancy. This is a simple outdoorsy sort of property from which to explore the Mara region.
El Karama offers classic vehicle and walking safaris, in addition to ranch tours, a selection of sports, and children’s activities. This part of Laikipia is home to four of the Big Five, numerous smaller mammals, and ample birdlife! Mara North is also a dream destination for safarists. You’ll enjoy game drives and walks here too. And if you visit during the months from July to October, you can look out for the huge herds of the Great Migration, with plenty of predators in their wake.
