You’ll start at Isoitok, an intimate and authentic camp providing exceptionally good access to both Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Next up is Chaka Camp, a semi-permanent property that moves three times yearly to keep up with the Great Migration! And the final part of your trip will be spent at the popular Pongwe Beach Hotel, on the gorgeous east coast of Zanzibar.

Your time at Isoitok will mostly be taken up with expertly guided game drives around Lake Manyara and in the Ngorongoro Crater. In both areas, you’ll observe an impressive array of wildlife. The camp offers various cultural experiences too, at an additional charge. Once at Chaka, the focus is vehicle safaris, specifically following the Great Migration as the herds mass on the South Serengeti’s short-grass plains in time for their calving season. And Pongwe provides watersports, land sports, island excursions, and simply relaxing on the pure white sands of Zanzibar.

Days 1-2 NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

On the first day of your vacation, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll fly to Lake Manyara Airport (50 mins), where you’ll be met by a private guide in a private safari vehicle. Both guide and vehicle will be available to you throughout your two days at Isoitok, making for tailored experiences on safari. On your way to the camp, you’ll stop off at Lake Manyara National Park, for your first game drive. This park, complete with beautiful lake and breathtaking Rift Valley backdrop, boasts numerous wildlife highlights, for example its tree-climbing lions and its vast flocks of flamingo! Once you’ve arrived at Isoitok, you can take time to relax in the pleasant lounge and dining areas, while marvelling at lake views. You’ll stay in one of the camp’s deluxe tents, featuring comfy double bed or twin beds, washroom with custom-made basin, and private veranda.

Next day, your guide will drive you to the Ngorongoro Crater. In this spectacular setting, you can look out for all of the Big Five, lots of smaller mammals, and hundreds of birds!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation, including all meals. Isoitok provides a wide range of cultural experiences at extra cost, such as a Maasai medicine walk, Maasai boma visit, traditional goat sacrifice, and traditional song and dance. Viewpoint walks, bush lunches, and romantic meals for two also incur an additional charge.

Days 3-6 Serengeti National Park

On Day 3, you’ll return to Lake Manyara Airport via private road transfer and fly to Lake Ndutu Airstrip (30 mins), before a shared transfer to Chaka Camp. This camp moves three times per year to bring guests the best of the Great Migration! From December through to March, it’s based on the Serengeti’s southern plains. Communal facilities include a comfortable lounge and dining tent, a library, a bar, and a fire-pit. There are nine guest tents, all spacious and well appointed. In the en-suite washroom, you’ll find flush toilet, washbasin, and classic bucket shower! Your tent also has a private veranda, where you can relax and enjoy amazing views over the plains. Chaka’s main activity is expertly guided game drives, which focus on the calving season of the migration’s huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. You can also look out for big cats, many smaller mammals, and plenty of birds!

All-inclusive accommodation, featuring all meals, tea/coffee and drinking water during meals, shared game drives (max. six pax per 4×4 Land Cruiser), drinking water during game drives, transfers between camp and Lake Ndutu Airstrip.

Days 7-11 Zanzibar

Day 7 sees an end to your safari and the beginning of your beach break! You’ll have a shared road transfer back to Lake Ndutu Airstrip and you’ll fly out to Zanzibar’s international airport (1 hr 25 mins). From here, you’ll transfer privately to Pongwe Beach Hotel. This property has a lovely location about halfway up Zanzibar’s palm-fringed east coast. A large timber-and-thatch structure houses its welcoming lounge, as well as its restaurant and bar. In the grounds of the hotel there’s an infinity pool, close to the beach. You’ll spend five nights in a beachfront room, enjoying a well-appointed bedroom, smart shower room, and shady veranda with gorgeous ocean vistas! Days are spent relaxing on the beach or, if you feel like it, getting active with all sorts of watersports and land sports. Fishing can also be arranged, as can an exciting variety of excursions (for examples, see below).

Board basis and activities:
Half-board accommodation, including breakfast and dinner. Activities at an additional cost include scuba diving, snorkelling, day trips to Stone Town, and visiting a spice farm and Jozani Forest.

On the last day of your trip, you’ll return to Zanzibar’s international airport via private transfer, in time for your flight/s home.
