The first four nights of your trip are spent at the historic Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, an elegant and sophisticated property that is a pleasing mixture of Georgian and Victorian architecture. The hotel is nestled into a quiet leafy street just a few minutes’ walk from the hustle and bustle of the City Bowl area.

Board basis and activities:

Booked on a B&B basis, the Cape Cadogan is perfectly situated to give you access to many of Cape Town’s finest restaurants, as well as Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. We can advise you on the best activities, excursions, and restaurants in the area, and we suggest asking one of our consultants for their recommendations.

Move just 80 kilometres to the east of Cape Town, and you are in the heart of South Africa’s picturesque Winelands, famous for its world-class wines and equally fantastic restaurants. The Avondrood Guest House was built in the 1870s and its Victorian facade was elegantly restored in 2011. Within walking distance of Franschhoek’s main street, Avondrood offers the ideal base from which to explore the Winelands.

Days 7–9 Timbavati Private Game Reserve

Ngala Safari 2014-40.1.jpg

After six days exploring the Cape, it’s onto the Timbavati, one of South Africa’s finest private game reserves. Bordering the western edge of Kruger National Park, the boundary is completely unfenced, allowing for the free movement of game between the park and the reserve – this makes for a phenomenal safari experience.

Ngala Safari Lodge sits beneath a cluster of mopane and tamboti trees on the edge of a seasonal river. It is slightly larger than some of the properties in the reserve, with 20 elegantly furnished semi-detached cottages, yet it still offers a high level of accommodation, service, and guiding.

Board basis and activities:
Your stay here is booked on an all-inclusive basis including all food, drinks, and shared scheduled safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp, with standard game drives by day and night available as well as nature walks.

Again sharing an unfenced border with Kruger, the game viewing in the Sabi Sand is second to none, and it is particularly renowned for its leopard sightings.

Here you will spend three nights at Kirkman's Kamp, a delightful homestead originally built in the 1920s. The atmosphere at Kirkmans is one of old-world charm; it is the perfect place to end your safari.
