This Botswana solo safari covers the thrilling Linyanti and the Okavango Delta! All properties are based in first-class private reserves and charge minimal single supplements, making this safari very good value compared with other options.

You’ll start at the adventurous Splash Camp, which is situated in the Delta’s Kwara Reserve and set up around a pan that attracts a lot of wildlife! Next up is Kwando Lagoon Camp, a classic camp on the banks of a channel in the Linyanti’s Kwando Reserve. Finally, you’ll head to Lebala Camp. Also located in the Kwando Reserve, Lebala is set on floodplains of the River Kwando. All properties are operated by Kwando Safaris, and you’ll benefit from a long-stay discounted rate equivalent to approximately 5 per cent off per night! The offer is valid all year round for guests staying six or seven nights at Kwando Safaris’ properties.

During your time at Splash, you’ll enjoy expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, boat cruises, mokoro excursions, fishing, and visits to local heronries. Days 1–3 Okavango Delta

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Maun Airport and board a flight to Kwara Airstrip. From here, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Splash Camp. Run by Kwando Safaris, this camp has a great location around a pan and provides highly personalised service! The communal spaces are found in a timber-and-thatch structure raised above ground level. They include a lounge, a dining area, and an orientation centre. Outside, there’s a fire-pit and a plunge pool. All 12 guest rooms benefit from views of the pan, from a private veranda. Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks, boat cruises, mokoro excursions, and seasonal fishing and trips to nearby heronries. While on safari, you can look out for four of the Big Five, numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and an astonishing assortment of birdlife!

Days 4–5 The Linyanti

After your stay at Splash Camp, you’ll return to Kwara Airstrip via shared road transfer and fly to Kwando Airstrip, before another shared transfer to Kwando Lagoon Camp. Famous for its sightings of wild dog, this property has a lovely relaxed riverside location. Communal spaces include an open-sided lounge/bar, a chic dining area, and a fire-pit, where guests gather to swap safari stories. You’ll stay in one of the camp’s seven standard-size guest tents. Spaced along the edges of the water, each offers a pleasant open-plan bedroom/lounge, an en-suite full bathroom, and a private deck. Activities from Lagoon include day and night game drives – and you can also enjoy short walking safaris. You can fish too, and embark on a super-scenic boat cruise along the Kwando river. Hippo viewings are common, and the water attracts a lot of land mammals as well. Birding is excellent!

Days 6–7 The Linyanti

The final two nights of your trip are spent at Lebala Camp, which is also in the Kwando Reserve. You’ll have a shared road transfer here from Kwando Lagoon Camp. Lebala is pretty rustic, always a hit with keen safarists! The camp’s name means ‘wide open spaces’ and is inspired by the surrounding plains. Communal areas include an open-plan lounge/bar, a dining room where guests eat with guides, a viewing deck, a plunge pool, and a fire-pit where you can talk safari with your fellow travellers. You’ll have much to discuss following excursions into Kwando, on day and night game drives as well as walking safaris. Wildlife highlights include big cats, wild dog, plenty of plains game, and hundreds of bird species. And after each exhilarating day in the reserve, you can bed down in your comfy en-suite tent, which offers a comfortable bedroom, separate lounge area, and private balcony!
