Days 1–2 Victoria Falls

On the first day of your family trip, you will fly to Livingstone and transfer by road to Ilala Lodge. This is a very grand building just 10 minutes’ walk from the entrance of Victoria Falls National Park! The communal areas include a comfortable lounge and a restaurant offering both indoor and outdoor dining. There is also a spacious swimming pool! All guest accommodation at Ilala is very well appointed. You will stay in two Standard Suites, an option that has features such as air conditioning, overhead fans, satellite television, a balcony with views of the spray from the Falls, and easy access to the central amenities. As far as activities are concerned, you need only pop down to Ilala’s adventure booking centre and staff members will be happy to advise you on how to make the most of your stay! There really is a lot to do here – Falls tours, wet-and-wild watersports, river cruises, and scenic flights over this spectacular region. You could even fit in a few animal encounters as a gentle introduction to being on safari, as within the national park guests can enjoy lion walks and elephant rides!

Days 3–5 Chobe National Park

On Day 3 of your holiday, you will fly to Chobe National Park for three days at Chobe Bush Lodge. This property is situated on the border of the national park and boasts amazing views of the Chobe river. Its communal lodge is a characterful wood-and-thatch building with a spacious lounge, restaurant, and craft shop. Outside, there is a swimming pool with pool deck – great for splashing about and keeping cool! Guest accommodation comprises 38 comfortable en-suite rooms, including four family rooms. Each has two separate bedrooms, en-suite facilities, air conditioning, television, and wonderful views out over the national park and the river! The lodge has an activities centre, offering private game drives, private cruises and boat hire, fishing, scenic flights, and even walks in a Namibian village nearby. Chobe is particularly famous for its immense elephant population, but there are loads of other species here too – lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, wild dog, and more than 300 types of bird!

Days 6–8 Okavango Delta

For the final part of your trip, it’s time to fly to the Okavango Delta! Here you will stay at Pom Pom Camp. This property has a beautiful location, surrounded by spectacular scenery – reed-fringed channels and waterlily lagoons. Constructed from canvas and thatch, the camp seems to rest along the island’s tree line. Inside the communal lodge, there is a lovely lounge and dining room, while outside you will find a traditional boma, a fire-pit area, and a super swimming pool! Pom Pom has one family safari tent, accommodating two adults and two children. This includes en-suite facilities and is situated close to the lodge. The property specialises in providing flexible times for meals and activities. Youngsters aged under 11 years are not permitted on game walks and mokoro excursions, but if they are aged over 6 years they can take part in game drives – and with private allocation of a safari vehicle! There is plenty of wildlife to see in the Delta, such as all Big Five and numerous other predators and herbivores. And there are more than 500 bird species too!
