Combining two of their camps makes for very good value! Starting in the west of the Delta, you will continue to the north, for exciting activities in both areas.

You will begin at Kanana. This property is situated in a private concession and is brilliant for birdwatching! And while you are in the north of the Delta, you will stay at Shinde, a traditional camp with a lovely location on the edge of a lagoon.

Days 1-3 Okavango Delta (West)

On Day 1 of your holiday, you will fly out to Kanana! This camp is in the western region of the Okavango Delta, occupying its own little island on the Xudum river. The communal spaces are well elevated and open sided to offer amazing views over a lagoon. Kanana has two comfortable lounges and a dining space, in addition to a campfire area and an inviting plunge pool! You will stay in one of the camp’s eight safari tents. These are spaced well apart for privacy and raised on wooden decks. Inside, furnishings include a double bed and a couple of easy chairs. The en-suite facilities are positioned to the back of the tent and comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins, and rather swish walk-in shower! From this little haven, you can enjoy day and night game drives, walking safaris, mokoro excursions, motorboat rides, fishing, and nights spent sleeping under the stars on Kanana’s special sleepout deck – highly recommended. The area around camp contains a wonderful range of big game and smaller species, with highlights such as elephant, antelopes, kingfishers, and the mysterious Pel’s fishing owl! Keen birders might also like to know that the camp has a seasonal heronry.

Days 4-6 Okavango Delta (North)

For the second part of your trip, you will fly to the northern region of the Okavango Delta, for your stay at Shinde! This camp is set on its own island too, on the edge of Shinde Lagoon. The scenery here is breathtaking – waterways and open grasslands! Shinde’s communal lounge and dining room are housed under canvas in a multi-tiered building, which really makes the most of the views. Shinde has eight classic safari guest tents, refurbished a couple of years ago to add sliding doors onto an extended deck. The bedrooms are bigger too, and exquisitely furnished. This camp is perfectly positioned to offer both land- and water-based activities, throughout the year. They include day and night game drives, walking safaris, motorboat rides, mokoro excursions, and fishing! Staff members are happy to arrange picnic lunches for you, so you can spend a full day out on safari. Among the wildlife species you might see are lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, antelopes, hippo, and a vast variety of waterbirds! It’s an exciting end to your stay in this spectacular part of the world.
