Finding value in Botswana is a hard task. However, this safari involves three of the country’s highlights – Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta, and Victoria Falls! It’s a well-designed trip that uses some of Botswana’s best value properties.

We use four properties. The Victoria Falls Hotel offers comfortable accommodation in a very grand building overlooking the Falls Bridge and Dakota gorges. Chobe Elephant Camp is situated well away from the crowds, on the edge of a rocky bluff over the Chobe river. In the Okavango Delta, Sango Camp is a fantastic little property just outside the Moremi Game Reserve, and the adventurous Pom Pom Camp is located on its very own island!

While you’re at The Victoria Falls Hotel, you’ll have opportunities to book all sorts of experiences from the property’s own Activities Centre – Falls tours, watersports, scenic flights, and more! Chobe Elephant Camp offers expertly guided game drives and boat cruises, as well as village visits. The safari continues once you’ve arrived at Sango, where you can enjoy day and night game drives, all-day game drives, mokoro excursions, and walks around a local village. And Pom Pom also provides vehicle safaris, in addition to mokoro rides and fishing.

*Please note, this is just one example of a trip we could design for you. We tailor-make safari holidays that take you to the real Africa – no readymade tours or set departures. Do get in touch with one of our experts today to start creating your bespoke itinerary!*

On Day 4, you’ll transfer privately from The Victoria Falls Hotel to Victoria Falls Airport. From here, you’ll transfer across the border to Kasane Airport and travel to Chobe Elephant Camp via shared road transfer. This is an excellent eco-style camp, with a lofty position on top of a rocky bluff – there are breathtaking views over the Chobe river and floodplains. Inside the communal lodge, there’s a large open-plan lounge and dining area, complete with bar and reading corner. This flows out in to a traditional boma, while a neat pathway brings you to a viewing deck with swimming pool. This deck overlooks a busy waterhole! You can also enjoy great views from your private veranda, a feature of each guest chalet.

As far as activities are concerned, there’s a clue in the name of the camp – Chobe boasts the biggest elephant population in Africa! You’ll be able to check out the gentle giants on game drives and boat cruises. Huge herds of buffalo and zebra are in residence too, along with giraffe, antelopes, lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, and more than 300 bird species! The camp also offers walks through the local village – this is a wonderful opportunity to find out about the Sibuya tribe.

From here, you’ll have a shared transfer to Sango Safari Camp. This is a classic tented safari camp, with an open main area and six Meru-style guest tents. Positioned in the cool shade of trees, the main area contains a comfy lounge, dining space, and bar. Outside, there is a traditional boma, a viewing deck, and a plunge pool! The views are beautiful from camp, comprising floodplains, riverine forests, and dry woodlands, supporting a fine diversity of wildlife. You can enjoy all this from your private veranda too. Every guest tent also has mosquito nets, reading lights, a digital safe, and en-suite facilities including an open-air bucket shower!

Due to its location between the Khwai river and the predator-rich Moremi Game Reserve, Sango provides some great game-viewing activities – day and night game drives, all-day game drives, and mokoro excursions. You can expect to see all Big Five species – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo – as well as cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, antelopes, hippopotamus, crocodile, and many more! For the final part of your trip, you’ll return to Khwai Airstrip via shared road transfer and fly to Pom Pom Airstrip (30 mins). From here, you’ll transfer to Pom Pom Camp. This adventurous little property is situated on its own island, at the heart of the Delta. The scenery out here is nothing short of spectacular, featuring reed-fringed channels and waterlily lagoons. The camp is constructed from canvas and thatch, and appears to rest in the island’s tree line. Its main lodge contains a lovely lounge, dining room, and bar. Outside, there is a boma, a fire-pit area, and a sparkling swimming pool! Guest accommodation consists of nine safari tents, all very well appointed. Each includes a spacious bedroom, lounge area, and en-suite facilities including open-air shower. There is a private veranda too, with beautiful views across the lagoon! Activities from Pom Pom focus on checking out the local wildlife, through morning and evening game drives, and mokoro excursions. This part of the Delta also boasts a wealth of wildlife! Fishing is available too, with the safari guides on hand to help you find the likes of African pike and various types of bream.
