Our recommended dates for the trip are 15th November to 31st March. The adventure begins at The Victoria Falls Hotel, a very impressive property that’s set within its own grounds and boasts views of Victoria Falls Bridge and the Batoka gorges! Next, you’ll travel to the northern region of the Okavango Delta, to Splash Camp. Occupying its own reserve, this camp offers an exciting variety of land- and water-based activities. And the thrills continue with the final part of your tour, at Pom Pom Camp in the Delta’s south-western area, which provides particularly good game viewing. You’ll receive a discount, as both Splash and Pom Pom are Kwando camps and there’s a 5 Rivers Special offer – stay at least two nights in each camp and save $170 per night!

The Victoria Falls Hotel has a fantastic Activities Centre. Here, staff members are happy to help arrange all the watersports and local excursions you could desire! At Splash and Pom Pom, you can enjoy day and night game drives, guided walks, boat cruises, mokoro excursions, and fishing (all months bar January and February). Splash also offers visits to local heronries. Other wildlife you can expect to see includes all Big Five, in addition to numerous predators, herbivores, and birds.

Day 1-2 Victoria Falls

On the first day of your trip, you’ll touch down at Victoria Falls International Airport and transfer privately to The Victoria Falls Hotel. Built in 1904 for workers on the Cape–Cairo railway, this hotel is steeped in history, and it provides a very luxurious sort of base camp from which to explore the Falls and farther afield. There are relaxing lounges, three restaurants, a spa, a salon, a swimming pool, and Stanley’s Terrace, famous for its afternoon teas! You’ll stay in a Central Deluxe Room, which is furnished in the Edwardian style and provides all the comforts you could desire. Activities are arranged at the hotel’s Activities Centre, and they include wet-and-wild watersports, helicopter and microlight flights, horse trails, and serene river cruises.

Days 3-5 Okavango Delta

After your time in Victoria Falls, you’ll travel to Kasane Airport via private road transfer and fly to Kwara Airstrip, in the northern region of the Delta. From here, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Splash Camp. Run by Kwando Safaris, Splash has a great location around a pan and provides highly personalised service! The communal spaces are found in a timber-and-thatch structure raised above ground level. They include a lounge, a dining area, and an orientation centre. Outside, there’s a fire-pit and a plunge pool. All guest rooms benefit from views of the pan, from a private veranda. Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks, boat cruises, mokoro excursions, and seasonal fishing and trips to nearby heronries.

Days 6-8 Okavango Delta

On Day 6, you’ll leave Splash Camp and return via shared road transfer to Kwara Airstrip, before flying to Pom Pom Airstrip, in the Delta’s south-western region. Here you’ll stay at Pom Pom Camp, a classic camp on a private island. The communal lounge and dining areas are housed in an open-plan canvas, timber, and thatch structure, which boasts amazing views. There’s a fire-pit too, and a very inviting swimming pool! You’ll spend the final three nights of your trip in one of the camp’s nine guest tents, featuring a comfortable bedroom, well-appointed en-suite facilities, and a shady veranda. Activities from Pom Pom include expertly guided game drives, night drives, bush walks, boat cruises, mokoro excursions, and fishing. Populations of predators, herbivores, and birds are impressive throughout the year – and the area is home to all Big Five species!
