"Siankaba is more of a hidden wilderness retreat than a classic Victoria Falls lodge. Tucked away on a secluded stretch of the Zambezi, roughly 25 miles from the falls themselves, this little gem is a paradise for those looking for their own private getaway that still feels authentically African."

OVERVIEW:

This lodge suits guests that are looking to get away from the crowds and want simply to relax before or after their safari. We would always suggest spending three nights here, so you can really get to enjoy what the lodge has to offer.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The lodge is accessible by road from Kasane or Livingstone and then the last five minutes are done by boat. The lodge is split into two Islands, which are connected by wooden swing bridges and walkways.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT ISLANDS OF SIANKABA:

The accommodation includes six tented chalets, all raised about 2–3 metres off the ground to give guests spectacular views of the Zambezi River. Each room has a private balcony, which is the perfect setting for a relaxing G&T or a morning coffee. The rooms are decorated to the highest quality and all bathrooms contain large bath tubs and separate showers.

A seventh suite, the Honeymoon Suite, is set away from the other lodges for extra privacy. Islands of Siankaba is happy to provide some nice little extras for honeymoon couples, such as a turndown service and romantic meals. On the main island there is an outdoor lounge area and fire pit, which takes full advantage of the views. There is also a small spa and a swimming pool tucked away with some sun loungers, where guests like to unwind.

ACTIVITIES AT ISLANDS OF SIANKABA:

Each day includes two activities.

  • You can choose from a guided walking tour of either side of the falls, fishing, a sunset cruise, mokoro trips, a cultural tour of Siankaba village by foot or bike, a picnic lunch, the curio market shop, or a visit to a community nursery school.

*This property is unfenced and although animal densities are not that high along this stretch of the Zambezi River, there is always the potential for dangerous game. So if you opt to stay here please always be cautious and look out for wildlife when walking around, especially at night.
