In summary, Chilwero is a pricy option that caters for travellers whose comfort is their priority. We tend to recommend this camp to first-time visitors, but not to old timers!
ACCESS & LOCATION:
With a great location overlooking the floodplains of Chobe National Park, Chobe Chilwero offers guests some of Africa’s finest river safaris as well as good game viewing on the riverfront at any time of year.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
Chobe Chilwero is owned by Sanctuary Retreats, a company that focusses more on luxury than on safari! This is no bad thing if comfort is your priority – without doubt, this camp delivers a luxurious personal experience to compete with the best in the country.
Luxury and comfort are key here, with the camp offering a spa and swimming pool as well as individual sumptuous suites.
Our only issue with Chilwero is the effect its location has on game drives – the Kasane area is the busiest part of the entire country. It offers a high level of guiding and can guarantee great big-game viewing on game drives and boat safaris; however, this area can get really very busy.
