When To Visit Makgadikgadi Salt Pans:
"A very cool little camp that offers one of the best value safari experiences in the entire country. Run by legendary safari guide David Dugmore, Meno A Kwena offers the best of Botswana’s desert experiences for a good price. Wild and adventurous, and seriously good fun."

Run by the ridiculously experienced David Dugmore, Meno a Kwena is an authentic small safari camp that has a tangible adventurous character and huge respect for the local communities it works with and supports.

Located approximately a two hour drive from the edge of the Makgadikgadi salt pans in Botswana, the camp sits on the top of a hill overlooking the edge of the Boteti River. When the dry season sets in, the area is famous for its large herds and Meno a Kwena has the prime location.

Meno a Kwena is a fabulously characterful old-style safari camp. We believe there are very few camps left in Africa like this. The owner's hands-on approach creates a wonderful mix of passion and friendliness that makes it one of those rare camps where you feel as if you are a guest in someone’s home.

Activities include walks, boating safaris and cultural village trips as well as standard game drives. Trips to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans are also possible, along with more adventurous fly camping trips across the region.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
