ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT KHWAI LEADWOOD UNDER THATCH:
There are six chalets – four for a maximum of two adults, and two for a family of up to two adults and two children. All chalets are classic wood, stone, and thatch buildings, with glass windows presenting spectacular vistas over the Tsaro Concession as far as the Moremi Game Reserve. Inside each standard unit, there’s a double bed or twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, a writing desk and chair, a lounge area, and storage space for clothes and other belongings. Additional amenities include a standing fan and a tea-and-coffee station. The en-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, single or twin washbasin/s with mirror over, and walk-in shower. The two family chalets benefit from all these features, in addition to an extra sleeping space for children. And every chalet has a private veranda, perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife wander by!
Khwai Leadwood’s communal structures are located just a short stroll from all guest chalets. All spaces occupy a spacious deck, with wooden walkways connecting them. There’s a very pleasant indoor lounge, featuring comfortable seating around a coffee table, as well as a few occasional tables and elegant overhead lighting. Next door, there’s a dining area, with a long table and smart chairs ready for everyone to eat together. This space includes the camp’s well-stocked bar! Guests can also eat out on the deck, all the while marvelling at the spectacular scenery. And there’s a fantastic fire-pit too, the fire surrounded by an almost-complete circle of campaign chairs. This is the heart of the camp – the perfect place for guests to get together and share safari stories!
