"For value alone, you just cannot go wrong with Chobe Elephant Camp. I’d also argue that the service here is some of the very best in the country – the staff are charming, welcoming, and great fun. A superb option for exploring Chobe at a good price."

OVERVIEW:

Chobe Elephant Camp is an excellent mid-range option for clients looking for good-value accommodation near the busy Chobe Riverfront. It is a welcome breath of fresh air when compared to the large commercial hotels in the area.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Chobe Elephant Camp is a new eco-style camp in Chobe National Park. It has excellent access to the superb game-viewing areas of the Chobe riverfront, with its large herds of elephant, giraffe, zebra and antelope, as well as predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT CHOBE ELEPHANT CAMP:

The lodge sits high on the edge of a rocky bluff overlooking Chobe River, with spectacular views out across sweeping floodplains. It has been designed to blend in with the environment, with the use of reclaimed or recyclable materials where possible. The exterior has been built out of sandbags filled with traditional red Kalahari sand, while the interior has a rustic look with polished floors, wooden beams and weathered furniture.

Each of the 14 bedrooms has an ensuite with both an indoor and outdoor shower, and a deck where guests can sit outside and watch any passing wildlife, while soaking in the breathtaking view.

ACTIVITIES AT CHOBE ELEPHANT CAMP:

Activities include game drives, boat trips and nature walks. The camp also has a plunge pool where guests can take a refreshing dip between outings.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
