&Beyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is a luxurious island camp within a majestic 90,500-hectare private concession surrounded by pristine wetlands. The camp overlooks a seasonal lagoon, and the primary focus here is boating on the surrounding channels when water levels permit. As game drives are relatively restricted, this is a great place to slow down and soak up the stillness and beauty of the Okavango Delta rather than enjoy an action-packed game-viewing spectacle. Accommodation is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, all safari activities, park fees, transfers between the lodge and the local airstrip, and a laundry service.

Our Yellow Zebra Opinion
  • Well-rounded and reliable
&Beyond’s Xudum and Xaranna are together the perfect example of the transformation of a heavily hunted reserve into one of Botswana’s finest private photographic reserves. The camps themselves are luxurious but also very expensive… you have to splash out to stay here.

WILDChild Programme

  • Motorised boat excursions allow you to cover plenty of ground while observing the prolific wildlife congregating in and around the water—a fun, exciting way to encounter wildlife on the channels.

  • Glide silently through the waterways and shallow lagoons of the Okavango Delta in a non-motorised mokoro (a traditional dug-out canoe). This is a great opportunity to observe many animals that feed on the grass and reeds of the palm islands, such as crocodile, elephant, hippo, lechwe, and sitatunga.

  • Venture to the surrounding islands alongside an armed guard or take a game drive in one of the lodge’s 4WD safari vehicles. You have a significant chance of seeing a variety of animals, including leopard, wildebeest, zebra, many antelope species, baboon, and warthog. Visit at the time of their migration, and you could spot big-game animals such as lion, elephant, giraffe, and buffalo.

mokoro safaris, botswana experiences, africa vacations
  • A fascinating learning experience, as you tune into how your guide interprets the signs and sounds of the bush. Bush walks are amazing for zooming in on plants and their medicinal uses, tiny insects, and a spectacular array of birds.

mokoro safaris, botswana experiences, africa vacations
  • Take a thrilling helicopter ride to appreciate the Okavango Delta’s maze of waterways and floodplains from an aerial viewpoint and venture into lesser-explored corners with a knowledgeable pilot guide.

  • Spend an incredibly relaxing few hours on the water trying your hand at catching tiger fish or tilapia. Please note that this activity is seasonal and not permitted in January and February for breeding purposes.

  • This exciting programme offers plenty of things for kids to do. Tracking, arts and crafts, even making bows and arrows… if you come here as a family, you can be sure the little ones will be happily occupied!
