"Asha Boutique is a small, quiet, and good-value property with a lovely location in the heart of Diani. The rooms are simple, but it isn't expensive."

OVERVIEW:

It is a chic guesthouse with exquisite service, incredible views, and a range of activities centred on the beautiful waterfront. Guests can expect an intimate experience with easy access to Diani Beach, regarded as one of the very best beaches in the whole of Africa! Highly recommended for those who want a chic little guesthouse rather than a large hotel or resort.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Asha Boutique is situated on the gorgeous Southern Coast of Kenya, along the Indian Ocean and about 30km from Mombasa.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT ASHA BOUTIQUE:

A world away from the larger resorts that can be found in the area, Asha Boutique is a quiet and comfortable guesthouse. Approaching along a dirt road and down a slight hill that runs to the ocean, visitors are welcomed by tropical gardens, a stream, and a pretty footbridge leading into the communal areas of the property. The centre of the whole place is the beautiful free-form swimming pool, a lovely place to while away a few peaceful hours. The main building contains the unassuming lounge area and a veranda for sitting out and watching the ocean waves lap up to the beach. A dining terrace provides cover from the sun by day and the breeze by night, while the bar is adjacent to a games room with darts, a snooker table, and even a small library! The real gem at Diani Blue, however, is The Edge, a beach restaurant shaded by palm trees. There is no better place to dine, with the stars above and the call of the sea around you!

Five of the six guestrooms at Asha Boutique surround the swimming pool, with the last room tucked away behind the main building. Whichever room you stay in, you can enjoy views of both the swimming pool and the ocean beyond, an amazing concept that is just not the case in many beachside properties! The décor is traditional with a firm nod towards the Swahili culture of this land, while the finish is modern and clean – for example, the bathrooms are constructed from wood and glass. All rooms come with a safe, a hairdryer, filtered water and a mobile telephone. In line with its eco-awareness, Diani Blue provides special eco-friendly toiletries straight from Nairobi. The comfortable beds offer a great night’s sleep and upon waking you can walk straight out into the pool or ocean and feel as relaxed as you have ever felt in your life!

ACTIVITIES AT ASHA BOUTIQUE:

Activities at Asha Boutique can be booked through external operators, within the famous beach resort, but staff at the guesthouse are happy to help set guests up with whatever they wish to do. With the ocean so close, the majority of day trips involve the water, so why not take a trip to the excellent Diani Marine for some diving and snorkelling? Alternatively, you can take a trip farther out to Wasini Island or Kisite Marine Park for some wild watersports! The traditional dhows can also be booked – this is a fantastic opportunity to dine out at sea and check out a vast array of sea creatures, all the while guided by knowledgeable locals. For those who wish to indulge in a little luxury, back at the guesthouse a professional masseuse offers a number of treatments, including an aromatherapy full body massage.
