Many clients spend their first few safaris trying to get good sightings of leopard. There are numerous parks where you have a good chance of seeing them – Tanzania’s Serengeti and Ruaha national parks, Botswana’s Okavango and Moremi reserves, and South Africa’s Kruger. However, none of these can assure a sighting.
We are often asked, where is the best place to view leopard? In our opinion, Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is by far the best option. We can almost guarantee that you will see leopard here.
Located just over an hour’s flight north of Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, South Luangwa is one of Africa’s finest wildlife areas. One of the main reasons is the fact that the park allows night safaris, an essential activity to maximise the chance of seeing these cats. On our own trips to the valley, and hearing our clients speak of their experiences, nowhere else gets close to Luangwa – it is the best place in Africa to view leopard.
